ABOUT THE PROJECT HOME BENEFIT WALK
The Benefit Art Walk encompasses four gallery venues in South Pasadena, all located within a three-block
radius.  SOPA Studios reflects one of the four venues.  SOPA Studios will utilize its gallery to mount work
submitted by artists participating in the event.  Studio spaces will additionally be open for viewing, and will
feature information and works related to Project Home and its goals on behalf of homeless women.

ABOUT SOPA STUDIOS
SOPA Studios is a shared-use studio providing work space to a small community of resident artists.  SOPA
additionally operates an Artists Collective aimed at providing artists support and services toward their
artistic development by connecting artists to each other and to resources available in the Los Angeles region.

WHAT
This Call seeks works of art to be available for exhibition in SOPA's Gallery and sale to supporters of the
Downtown Women's Center and its
Project Home Capital Campaign.

Studio spaces within SOPA will display information about
Project Home, works of art created by DWC Staff
and Participants, sample products designed in conjunction with Project Home's Recycle/Re-use Boutique and
similar items that draw upon the theme of "Home."

Artists may elect to respond to this theme when selecting works for submission to the Gallery show.  For
example,  artists may choose to submit works inspired by reflections, memories, imaginings or
interpretations of home, family, community or related topic(s).  However, works do not need not fit this
theme in order to be accepted for the exhibition.  Imagery of every kind and within all disciplines are
accepted.

SUBMISSION PROCESS
Priority Deadline for Submission is June 25 (Round 1).  Notification of accepted works will be provided by July
7.  A Round 2 deadline of July 9 has been established, should space allow for inclusion of additional works
upon completion of Round 1 decisions.

Artists should provide a completed Participation Form, available at www.sopastudios.com (Link found at top
of this
Call for Submissions page.)

Artists may choose to submit several works for possible inclusion, together with the price the artist wishes to
collect for each piece.  For fundraising purposes, the artist's price will be marked-up with proceeds exceeding
the artist's price benefitting the Downtown Women's Center.  (Mark-ups range from 30-60%, depending on
artist pricing and other factors.)

Participating artists will additionally be included on the Project Home Benefit Directory of Artists, an
interactive web-based directory that will be available in SOPA Gallery over the course of the exhibit.  In
addition to providing general exposure to artists and their work, the directory will serve as a catalogue of
additional works available for sale in conjunction with the Project Home Benefit Walk event.

SALES
All works are for sale during the one-evening Benefit Walk event, with a portion of proceeds benefitting
Project Home.  Sales amounts in excess of artist's pricing reflect donations to DWC's Project Home
Campaign.
