Keith Ullrich subject of Filmforum research re postwar
experimental film

Keith together with artist/filmmaker Craig Rice was video-interviewed mid-January for a Getty-
funded project involving Los Angeles Filmforum.  This arises from Keith’s involvement with
Pasadena Filmforum in the late ‘70s and early ‘80s:  Craig was making short films and Keith
providing music/ soundscapes.  A bit about the project:  it is part of an initiative to broaden
awareness & exposure of LA's contemporary art history.  Filmforum will focus on how filmmaking
evolved in Los Angeles by gathering oral histories from artists who contributed to the creation
of experimental cinema in Southern California in the postwar era.  A three-day symposium is
planned for 2010.  The end goal is a series of film screenings that will occur 2011/12 as well as
media-rich web publication.  We’ll look forward to hearing more about Keith’s involvements!
Until then, above image is a peak at Keith's January interview.

Catharine Stebbins soliciting submissions for new blog
Catharine Stebbins and Cat Gwynn and I have put together a creative directive and submission
guideline for our upcoming arts collective blog - PhotOOmnivore. And we need and want your
photos, drawings, poems, stories, short films, restaurant reviews, questions for Magritte, travel
tips, and bad kitty stuff, etc...  Be creative and feel free to riff on the categories we sent and
surprise us with your clever brilliance.  We will begin editing as soon as we receive your work
and start putting it all into place with a launch date sometime in the next few weeks.  You will be
notified when it's live and ready to be consumed.  Please keep the submissions coming - we
can't do it without you or your work since a blog is a daily feed.  We welcome recommendations
to other artists you feel might be a good fit, so send them our way - just make sure to let them
know to tell us you made the recommendation so we can keep track of things.  In the meanwhile
start editing and categorizing your work and bring it on!  castebbins@gmail.com
