| Artist Profiles Juanita Rivas-Raymer Sculpture I started out as an art major in college painting and dreaming of my life as an artist. Well reality set in and I had kids and got married and my art kind of fell by the wayside. I quickly realized that I needed to continue creating my art and took a break from painting and started crocheting and knitting. At the same time I fell into this amazing opportunity to help women in their births and with breastfeeding. Eight years later I am still helping women through the childbearing years and yes still creating. I have painted some, but I have found yet another passion that I have incorporated into my art. Recycling. I am obsessed with how I can recycle things instead of throwing it away. Hence, I have started crocheting things out of plastic. |
