Artists Lisa Avery and Alice Marsh have collaborated to bring about a
project that celebrates the Diana camera as a tool for producing
works that are as poetically rich as they are technically "low fi."  The
Diana, largely comprised of plastic parts and extremely basic in its
operation, offers the artists access to their imaginations that is
unhindered by the electronic bells and whistles typically involved with
contemporary digital shooting and processing.

While both have attained proficiency in the technical aspects of a
wide range of photographic processes, with this show they focus on
Diana work and fundamental darkroom technique, returning to their
image-making roots.  Unharnessed from the bulk and complexities of
other camera-work, they are freed to focus greater attention on the
immediate experience of their chosen imagery, capturing visual
memories of day-to-day environments that are rich in texture and
charm and effective in evoking feelings that range from quiet
enjoyment to anxious uncertainty.
