| Explorations in contact printing and alternative photographic processes. This 6-week series offers creative opportunity to explore a variety of alternative process methods to develop a unique body of work or creative project. While sessions within each series vary, typical topics include: * Cyanotype & Van Dyke Prints * Creating Digital Negatives for Contact Printing * Alternative Bookmaking / Functional Art * Approaches to Collage / Incorporating Type * Image Transfer Techniques Small group sessions offer demonstrations and direct assistance as participants explore their own creative process using a variety of alternative photographic and other techniques. Participants use as source material their original images (digital or traditional photographs / negatives / transparencies) or found objects/images. In addition to offering an alternative to the darkroom enlarger for printing images of unique quality, the alternative process lends well to collage, bookmaking and other mixed media approaches to artmaking. This workshop is for adults of all skill levels, and may be repeated as an open lab. 6-week series is scheduled over seven weeks to allow for one "miss" date TBD. |
