SOPA Tuesdays
Series Content

Each SOPA Tuesdays Series consists of

  • 2 Skills-Building sessions (designed to teach skill sets within the chosen medium for that session)

  • 1 Special Topic session (explorations with printmaking practices)

  • 1 Guided Project session (complete a project while guided in use of a chosen media)

  • 2 Studio Lab sessions (Lab time for continued work on personal projects)

  • 1 Make-Up Session (Topic determined by need)

  • 1 Culmination (Group Exhibit or other culminating activity)

The outline for each Series varies, depending on topics chosen.  

Participants help to decide the outline for each series by expressing their interests from among the
many possible skills-building and special topics.  A listing of possible sessions is found below.

Digital Negative How To
Learn to make enlarged negative for contact printing

Contact Printing Basics
Learn how to prepare paper, expose and process your image

Transfers:  Digital, Polaroid, Packing Tape, Gel Medium
Techniques for creating unique imagery with transfer process
Special Topics
These sessions explore special topics in printmaking, including both
advanced topics within alternative photo processes and
explorations with other printmaking practices

Re materials cost -- materials utilized will vary greatly, depending on topics
covered, and personal projects pursued by individuals.  Contributions toward
material costs are occasionally collected in-session.  Materials for personal projects
may be acquired separately, or can be purchased from studio materials on hand.
