Statement
My studio practice uses drawing and painting to explore ordinary experience in the context of a fragile world. Materiality and surface are central. Each canvas begins with the understanding that the finished work will arrive out of process, instinctive use of hand and brush in part determining pictorial outcomes. The practice is concerned with human experience, beauty within the painted surface, and the unique potential of visual art to convey nuanced meanings.
